Repair Cost Standards
XTRA Lease Repair Cost Standards

Repair Cost Standards (RCS) eliminate surprises by taking the inconsistency and hidden costs out of damage repairs.

Why did we develop RCS? Our customers told us that dealing with damage repairs was a hassle.

We developed cost standards for repairs by researching and testing costs for doing repairs on every trailer type. Independent suppliers verified these fair market standards. So before we repair a trailer, you'll know what the cost will be.

For repairs less than $500, we charge our RCS for that repair, with no service charge or other mark up. For repairs more than $500, we get two estimates from our repair vendors and charge the lower of the two estimates with no service charge or other mark up.

Each RCS has three components:

  • parts cost for the repair
  • number of labor hours required for the repair
  • hourly labor rate for a geographic area

For every repair, the parts cost and number of labor hours are the same at every XTRA Lease branch. The only difference in the RCS is the hourly labor rate.
